A WORD BY MARIAH M.
I made an actor cry once.
Just as our table read had wrapped, I asked my cast how they felt. One actor spoke, then another, and in between the silence from one cast member to the next, I could see it. A dear actor of mine was fighting what seemed to be tears,
and what he was feeling, quickly became tangible in the room. He took the floor and told how parallel to our protagonist,
the story of being an adoptee, deeply resonated with him. He went on to explain that the script I had written not only
touched him in a tremendously healing way, but his character was exactly the kind of person he wished to have had
in his own life story.

My approach to filmmaking is directly connected to who I am. I love people and I love creating. It’s one of my life’s greatest honors to be a filmmaker in this day and age. I get to contribute to the world’s actively unveiling revelation that
nothing is more valuable than human beings.
I’ll never forget the memory above, or the fact that it occured at the dawn of my career.
When people encounter my work - I hope they encounter something greater than our mere selves.
It will always be about people for me; even if just one person is impacted…their world is forever changed.
With love,
Mariah M.
